The Arboretum is lead by several talented committees with members providing a broad variety of talents and professional expertise. Most of the meetings meet monthly for one-two hours with some independent work.
Arboretum committees include: Board of Directors, Education, Finance, Planning & Operations, Fall Harvest Festival, and Events.
Volunteers work with the Executive Director to maintain the buildings, grounds and gardens at The Arboretum. Members of the Planning & Operations Committee are also heavily involved in grounds management.
Located just off a major Iowa highway, The Arboretum hosts tourists and travelers from across the country throughout the growing season. Please contact email@example.com if you are interested in assisting staff by welcoming and dispersing information to visitors.
The Arboretum’s main event each year is planned by the Fall Harvest Festival Committee with many volunteers helping on-site during the event. The Arboretum also hosts smaller events throughout the growing season, one of which is the Midsummer Celebration held in July. As more volunteers get involved in this area, The Arboretum hopes to host more summer events.
The Education Committee supports most summer programming, but volunteers are often called to lead adult programs and assist youth programs.
The Arboretum also writes a monthly e-newsletter, the View, sent out to Arboretum volunteers and supporters. Volunteers help with writing articles, taking photos and designing.
